2. महल की शाही बालकनी: एक ऊंची, निकली हुई छत जो किलेबंद शहर और दूर के समुद्र का मनोरम दृश्य प्रस्तुत करती है। रेलिंग हाथीदांत और चांदी से बनी है, जिसे पौराणिक जीवों के आकार में तराशा गया है। यहाँ से युद्ध का पैमाना दिखाई देता है, जिसमें वानर शिविर की आग क्षितिज पर बिंदुओं की तरह दिखती है। यहाँ हवा शिखरों के बीच से ऐसे चलती है जैसे गिरे हुए लोगों की चीखें हों।

चरण 9: सिनेमाई पटकथा

दृश्य 1: सन्नाटे का हॉल
स्थान: आंतरिक, महान सभा कक्ष।
समय: दोपहर ढलने के बाद।

(0-15 सेकंड) कैमरा शांत, भव्य हॉल में घूमता है। एकमात्र आवाज मशालों की हल्की चटकने की है। मंत्री साये में मूर्तियों की तरह खड़े हैं।
(15-30 सेकंड) एक दूत प्रवेश करता है, उसकी सांसें भारी और उखड़ी हुई हैं। वह चबूतरे के चरणों में गिर जाता है।
दूत: (कांपती आवाज में) मेरे स्वामी... लंका का प्रकाश बुझ गया है। मेघनाद... आपका पुत्र... अब नहीं रहा।

दृश्य 2: एक दिग्गज का पतन
(30-50 सेकंड) रावण पर क्लोज-अप। उसके चेहरे के भाव जम जाते हैं। उसके हाथ में सोने का प्याला छूट जाता है, जो संगमरमर से टकराकर एक गूंजती हुई आवाज करता है।
(50-70 सेकंड) रावण की आँखें पलट जाती हैं। वह अपने सिंहासन से आगे की ओर गिरता है, उसका विशाल शरीर फर्श से टकराता है जिसकी गूंज पूरे कक्ष में सुनाई देती है।
(70-90 सेकंड) सन्नाटा। 20 सेकंड का पूर्ण सन्नाटा जब कैमरा गिरे हुए राजा पर टिका रहता है। मंत्री हिलने-डुलने में भी बहुत डरे हुए हैं।

दृश्य 3: परिवर्तन
(90-120 सेकंड) रावण की उंगलियां फड़कती हैं। उसके सीने में एक धीमी, गड़गड़ाहट वाली आवाज शुरू होती है, जैसे कोई आने वाला भूकंप हो। वह धीरे-धीरे खुद को ऊपर उठाता है।
(120-150 सेकंड) रावण: (एक फुसफुसाहट जो दहाड़ में बदल जाती है) मेरा पुत्र... इंद्र का विजेता... एक साधारण नश्वर द्वारा मारा गया? इसके लिए स्वर्ग खून के आँसू रोएगा!
(150-180 सेकंड) रावण खड़ा होता है। उसकी त्वचा एक आंतरिक अंगारे जैसी रोशनी से चमकने लगती है। उसकी आँखें जल उठती हैं।
रावण: मैं बहुत धैर्यवान रहा हूँ। मैंने राजाओं का खेल खेला जबकि मेरे वंश का संहार किया गया। अब और नहीं!

दृश्य 4: विनाश की शपथ
(180-240 सेकंड) रावण अपने मंत्रियों की ओर मुड़ता है। उसकी आवाज अब एक साथ बोलने वाले दस सिरों की बहु-स्वर गूंज है।
रावण: बचे हुए लोगों को बुलाओ! हर वह राक्षस जो तलवार पकड़ सकता है, तैयार हो जाए। मैं तब तक नहीं सोऊंगा जब तक वनवासियों के सिर इस शहर के द्वारों पर ढेर नहीं हो जाते!
(240-300 सेकंड) रावण बालकनी की ओर जाता है। वह डूबते सूरज की ओर देखता है।
रावण: राम... तुमने मेरा हृदय छीन लिया है। अब, मैं तुम्हारी दुनिया छीन लूंगा।
(300-360 सेकंड) कैमरा महल के एक वाइड शॉट में पीछे हटता है क्योंकि रावण की दहाड़ लंका की नींव हिला देती है। स्क्रीन गहरे, खूनी लाल रंग में फीकी पड़ जाती है।
