वेदवती अपनी आँखें खोलती है। वह धीरे से खड़ी होती है।
वेदवती: मैं कुशध्वज की पुत्री वेदवती हूँ। मेरे पिता राक्षसों के हाथों मारे गए क्योंकि उन्होंने मुझे ब्रह्मांड के स्वामी विष्णु के अलावा किसी और को देने से मना कर दिया था। मैं उनकी इच्छा पूरी करने के लिए यहाँ रहती हूँ।
रावण हंसता है, एक कठोर आवाज।
रावण: विष्णु? जब लंका का राजा तुम्हारे सामने खड़ा है, तब तुम एक साधारण तपस्वी को खोज रही हो? मैंने देवताओं को जीत लिया है। इस मूर्खता को छोड़ो और मेरे साथ चलो।

दृश्य 4: उल्लंघन
स्थान: वेदवती का आश्रम
समय: 50 सेकंड
रावण अचानक, हिंसक गति के साथ आगे बढ़ता है। वह हाथ बढ़ाता है।
रावण: यदि तुम अपनी इच्छा से नहीं आओगी, तो तुम मेरी इच्छा से चलोगी।
वह उसके बाल पकड़ लेता है। वेदवती चिल्लाती नहीं है। वह उसे ऐसी आँखों से देखती है जो जलती हुई प्रतीत होती हैं।
वेदवती: नीच राक्षस! तुमने अपने स्पर्श से इस शरीर को अपवित्र कर दिया है। अब यह मेरे किसी काम का नहीं रहा।

दृश्य 5: त्याग
स्थान: वेदवती का आश्रम
समय: 80 सेकंड
वेदवती अपना हाथ उठाती है। प्रकाश की एक चमक उसके बालों को काट देती है। वह जमीन से फूटने वाली आग की ओर पीछे हटती है।
वेदवती: क्योंकि तुमने वनों में मेरा अपमान किया है, इसलिए मैं तुम्हारे विनाश के लिए फिर से जन्म लूंगी। एक स्त्री ही तुम्हारे अंत का कारण बनेगी।
वह ज्वालाओं में चली जाती है। आग गरजती है। रावण हाथ बढ़ाता है, लेकिन गर्मी उसे पीछे धकेल देती है। वह उसे प्रकाश में ओझल होते देखता है।
15 सेकंड का मौन जब चिंगारियां उड़ जाती हैं।
