रावण: यह राम जिसके लिए तुम तड़प रही हो... वह एक परछाई है। बिना राज्य का आदमी, धूल में भटक रहा है। वह यहाँ तुम तक नहीं पहुँच सकता। मेरी नगरी पर सूरज भी ज्यादा चमकने से डरता है। मुझे स्वीकार करो। ये आभूषण पहनो। मेरी रानियों को अपनी दासी बना लो।

दृश्य 4: सीता का प्रतिरोध
सीता ऊपर नहीं देखतीं। वह घास का एक छोटा तिनका उठाती हैं और उसे अपने और रावण के बीच रख देती हैं।
(75-90 सेकंड: सन्नाटा। सीता की सांसें उथली हैं लेकिन उनकी मुद्रा दृढ़ है। कैमरा घास के तिनके पर केंद्रित होता है।)
रावण: (आँखों में क्रोध के साथ) तुम एक भिखारी के लिए दुनिया की दौलत को ठुकरा रही हो? मैंने स्वर्ग को जीता है! मेरा महल सोने और रत्नों से बना है।

दृश्य 5: अंतिम चेतावनी
रावण आगे झुकता है, उसकी छाया उन पर लंबी खिंचती है।
(90-120 सेकंड: रावण का चेहरा हताशा का मुखौटा है।)
रावण: मैं तुम्हें समय देता हूँ, सीता। लेकिन मेरा धैर्य अनंत नहीं है। उस विलासिता के बारे में सोचो जिसे तुम ठुकरा रही हो।
(120-150 सेकंड: रावण मुड़ता है और चला जाता है। सीता अंधेरे उपवन में प्रकाश की एक अकेली आकृति बनी रहती हैं। कैमरा धीरे-धीरे पीछे हटता है।)
