(जाम्बवान हनुमान की ओर चलते हैं, जो अंधेरे होते आकाश के सामने एक छाया की तरह हैं। 5 सेकंड की चुप्पी जब जाम्बवान उन्हें देखते हैं।)
जाम्बवान: हे वानरों में सिंह, तुम चुप क्यों बैठे हो? तुम, जो गति में वायु के समान और चमक में अग्नि के समान हो।
(हनुमान ऊपर देखते हैं, उनका चेहरा जिज्ञासु लेकिन विनम्र है।)
जाम्बवान: तुम खुद को नहीं जानते। तुम अंजना और महान वायु के पुत्र हो। जब तुम केवल एक बच्चे थे, तब तुमने स्वयं सूर्य को चुनौती दी थी।
(सूर्य-छलांग और वज्रपात का त्वरित 10-सेकंड का मोंटाज।)
दृश्य 3: जागरण
स्थान: चट्टान का किनारा
समय: रात / चांदनी
अवधि: 120 सेकंड
(जाम्बवान की आवाज़ और अधिक गूँजती और शक्तिशाली हो जाती है।)
जाम्बवान: देवताओं ने तुम्हारी हड्डियों में अजेयता पिरोई है। ब्रह्मा ने चाहा है कि कोई भी शस्त्र तुम्हें स्पर्श न करे। मृत्यु स्वयं तुम्हारी दासी है। उठो, हनुमान! जनक की पुत्री अंधकार में प्रतीक्षा कर रही है, और केवल तुम ही प्रकाश हो।
(हनुमान खड़े होते हैं। 15 सेकंड की चुप्पी। हवा की तीव्रता बढ़ जाती है। उनकी मांसपेशियाँ फैलती हैं। ज़मीन कराहती है।)
हनुमान: (गहरी और गूँजती आवाज़) मुझे याद है। आकाश मेरा मार्ग है, और समुद्र मेरी चाल में केवल एक गड्ढा है।
(हनुमान लंका की ओर देखते हैं। उनकी आँखें चमकती हैं। स्क्रीन सुनहरे रंग में फीकी पड़ जाती है।)
